Step 1

Enter your recipe in one of five categories:

  • Appetizers & Soups
  • Mains
  • Sides
  • Savoury
  • Desserts
  • Breads

Use at least one Sunnah ingredient

Step 2

You must use at least one Sunnah ingredient from the list below:

  • Dates
  • Milk
  • Fig
  • Honey
  • Melon
  • Vinegar
  • Olive Oil
  • Mushroom
  • Grapes
  • Pomegranate
  • Barley

Include a story about the recipe

Step 3

Cook up a family secret recipe

Or a lockdown success

Mama's handmade dessert

Or a childhood favourite

Share with us your unique story behind the chosen recipe such as where the recipe originated or why you created it or why you (or your family) loves it.

Send us a picture

Step 4

Showcase your photography skills and send us an amazing picture of the dish you've prepared. Entries will be judged on your food presentation skills and visual appeal.

Tag us on social media

Step 5

Post your recipe on Instagram (or Facebook) and tag @arriqaaq and #arriqaaqwinterchefcontest.

Prize Money

Submit before January 3, 2021

  • 1st Prize: Rs 3000
  • 2nd Prize: Rs 2000
  • 3rd Prize: Rs 1000

Winning recipes (and other notable recipes) will be published in our first issue of Arriqaaq Magazine.

Judging

Submit before January 3, 2021

  • Entries will be judged on taste, creativity, best use of our product, ease of preparation, and visual appeal.
  • We will test and select a best recipe from each category, then select THREE prize winners.
  • Deadline is January 3, 2021.
  • Judging takes place from January 4-8, 2021.
  • Winners will be notified by January 10, 2021 and winning recipes will be published in our first issue of Arriqaaq Magazine.

Rules

Submit before January 3, 2021

  • Each and every entry submitted must be the original work of the entrant to be considered a qualified entry.
  • Any entry that has been previously published in any type of material, will be automatically disqualified.
  • Each submitted recipe must not infringe on the copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other intellectual property rights of any other person or entity.
  • Each entrant shall acknowledge that other entrants may have similar recipes.
